Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 has recently been confirmed by not one, but two top-tier, independent research laboratories to provide the highest level of system protection. The recognition from AV-Comparatives and Dennis Technology Labs asserts that the Kaspersky product is as current as it is robust, says Nikita Shvetsov, deputy CTO of research at Kaspersky.

“With each new set of test results our product repeatedly demonstrates a high level of protection from real-world threats,” Shvetsov said in a statement announcing the recognition by AV-Comparatives. “This is thanks to a number of advanced antivirus technologies implemented in Kaspersky Internet Security 2013. We place great emphasis on developing proactive antivirus technologies to combat the ever-growing number of threats.”

Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 has recently been confirmed by not one, but two top-tier, independent research laboratories to provide the highest level of system protection.

AV-Comparatives, an Austrian antivirus research lab, found that KIS repelled 99.8 percent of attacks conducted in a Real-World Protection Test conducted in April that replicated scenarios that commonly occur during everyday computer use, such as web browsing and working with popular — and commonly exploited — applications like Adobe Reader, Java. The test was conducted on computers running Windows 7, and involved 545 infection scenarios replicating the most recent vulnerabilities and malware samples. Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 stopped 544 of them.

Meanwhile, London-based Dennis Technology Labs awarded KIS its highest prize, the AAA Award, in a comparative test of security products for home users conducted over the first quarter of 2013. The test was designed to measure various products’ effectiveness in detecting and blocking threats, as well as eliminating false positives that block legitimate programs from running. Nine international products were tested, and Kaspersky was one of three to win the AAA Award by detecting and blocking 98 percent of threats and allowing just one false positive, well below the average of 3.7.

The dual recognitions continue the legacy of Kaspersky’s robust Internet security suite. Earlier this year Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 achieved a 100-percent success rate in a similar test conducted by AV-Comparatives, while in December of 2012, it earned AV Comparatives’ top Advanced+ rating after a rigorous test conducted from August to November of that year. Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 also won the top award from AV-Comparatives following a Real-World Protection Test conducted in June 2012. That these recognitions come from independent authorities on antivirus protection is proof positive of Kaspersky’s continuing success in researching and thwarting the latest malware threats, and is more reason for consumers who choose the company’s products to breathe easy.
