Kaspersky Academy goes to South America

All industries, including IT, need emerging talent and ambitious specialists joining their ranks, bringing with them fresh ideas that help create a foundation for future innovations. Every year millions of young IT professionals graduate from universities all around the world, and many of these ambitious alumni are eager to demonstrate their knowledge outside of their Alma Mater by showcasing their scientific efforts to the public and gaining visibility within the industry.

Kaspersky Lab is proud to provide an opportunity for these graduates to present their researches through its ‘CyberSecurity for the Next Generation’ conference, which is held in 5 regions: North America, South America, Russia and CIS, Europe and Asia. The finals for this academic year will be staged at the Royal Holloway, University of London in the UK in June 2013. Last November Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. students from higher education institutions and graduate schools based in North America were given the opportunity to present their works. Now, it’s South America’s turn.

From January 31 – February 1, six South American graduates will introduce their IT security research at the National Polytechnic School in Quito, Ecuador for the second round of ‘CyberSecurity for the Next Generation’.

Utilizing their deep understanding of the needs and trends of the industry, participants will present their researches on emerging security threats, cloud & storage protection, corporate infrastructure security, protection technologies of the future and IT security education.

At the conclusion of this conference the authors of the best works will be given awards and valuable prizes from Kaspersky Lab.

Please join us in wishing luck to Lilia Elena Gonzalez from La Salle University and to Jaqueline Carmilema, Wilson Castro, Franklin Onofa, Johanna Malla, and Galoget Latorre from the National Polytechnic School of Ecuador on their presentations tomorrow, February 1st.
